    video problems

    Locked

I have plugged in my computer to three different monitors and each time the monitor doesn’t respond. I then ordered a video card to install (Rage II, ATI video card). After installation of the card nothing happened. I still have no video input or output. Any suggestions? All this started with a failing cpu fan. Please help!! Thanks

What makes you think it’s the video card?
Can you hear your HDD continuous running as it loads the Operating System?
If not, It’s more likely that either your Power suppy, motherboard or your CPU has failed.
Start with the Power supply (cheaper),and because your fan has failed, it’s very likely that your power supply is what is wrong. Exchange the new video card for a the power suppy (around 35,00). If you don’t know how to do it, take it to a shop that doesn’t skin you alive and have them check.

      Good Luck!

The HDD continuously runs. I assumed it was the video card because everything else seems to work OK except the monitor output. The power supply is still running as well as the fan. It was the CPU fan I had to replace. I guess it must be the CPU,is there anyway I can tell for sure.

        Thanks!
