VOIP and Router Question

by ferlin_pedro . Updated 17 years, 11 months ago

My scenario is this:
I have a Linksys VOIP Phone Adapter and voip service activated on my ISP line. I have a router that shares the internet for couple of computers within my firm. The router is a Linksys WRT54G and configured to use Automatic DHCP Configuration and use a specific DNS server.
I connect my ethernet cable direct to the router and run it to the voip box i have. I plug my phone into the adapter and i get dial tone. When i try making calls, i keep getting something sounds like a busy tone. I tried several numbers. When i plug the voip box to my internet modem though, i get to make calls. I’m using static IP settings provided by my ISP. How can i get the voip box to work with my router? Is there a way?
