Voip Problem

by irishluc1 . Updated 16 years, 11 months ago

I have a problem with Voip that seems to be a “jitter and packet loss” type of thing.
Outbound/inbound voice quality is very “choppy”.
I ran an online test for Voip and everything checked out okay except the jitter which is a bit less that 20ms but often gets worse, packet loss is generally high but can often be <1%. I did a vocal test using the number 909-390-0003 and indeed the outbound voice quality is usually very bad but sometimes it rivals landline (very seldom though). Am using XP home w/sp2, have a hardwired LAN with an older Linksys router (model NH1005, V2) that feeds to a wireless broadband antenna. Have tried everything I can think of, and several suggestions found on the internet, but nothing seems to correct the problem Anyone have any ideas????? Thanks for any help, or ideas you may provide.
