VPN access to a network drive in Windows XP

By fadi.farhat ·
I am setting up a Snap Server 210 on my network, but I need VPN clients to have access to it as well. It seems that the 210 server does not support VPN out of the box (of course the genius salesperson told me it would), so I thought I would do it this way:

1. Connect the snap server storage as a network drive on one of the XP Pro machines I have.
2. Setup the XP Pro machine as a VPN server.
3. Allow VPN clients access to all drives on the VPN server, including network drives.

In the VPN server options, I checked "Allow clients access to my local network". I have also made the Snap Server a member of the same workgroup, but the VPN clients cannot access any drives not physically installed on the VPN server. I also cannot share a network drive to allow VPN clients access that way.

Is there something that I am missing or is there a third party software that I can use to accomplish this?

Thank you.
