Hello everyone, complete VPN newbie here.
I have the following
ZyXEL P-661H-D1 Router w. 2xVPN
HP Network Printer with fixed internal ipaddress.
Several Windows Desktop Computers
Several Apple Mac Desktops/Laptops.

I current use one of my windows desktops as a mini file server…
I have added a second hard drive which I’ve “shared”
I am able to access this shared area from any of the mac or windows
computers within the LAN.
smb://ipaddress/sharedname – Mac
\\ipaddress\sharename – Windows
It’s simple and works well.
Each of the machines can also print to the network printer.
When several documents are sent to it, they all leave the machine and
I presume are stored within the printer untill completed.
When not on the LAN i obviously can’t connect to these shared drives
anymore or to the network printer.
CAN I USE A VPN TO DO THIS…?
The machines which I wish to print and access remotely are Apple
Macs all using the latest versions of TIGER.
Within INTERNET CONNECT there is the space/area to provide a
server address, account name and password.
Can anyone help me to set up my VPN router to allow me to do this…
And once I’ve connected to the VPN, how would I access the printer/
shared drive.
