This is a good one. This particular machine creates vxd files in the same folder as an install .exe file(with a new program installation). The initial executable is stripped from whatever size it was down to just a few kb, and if removed from the folder, will perform an illegal operation when dble clicked. I feel that it is a memory or temp. files problem, but so far I cannot fix.It's annoying!

Check the machine running the anti-virus software Click Start->Search,Find->Files and Folders,type in the file name that is being created and select the drive to be searched and run search now,look for a very large file that is being duplicated andnote the location,foler may be located in C:\Windows root directory At this stage it may be reason to wipe the drive and do a clean install
