Was I ripped off ?

Hi I am fairley new to computers and I bought a bare bones unit I paid for a 1 gig. Prosessor and when I first turn on my computer it say I have A
1000 MHZ prosessor is that the same as a 1 gig prosessor . I ask the shop where i bought it and they insest that isis the same.
Thank you for reading this and please I do need an answer to my question. my new computer also so tell me it had hadr drive errors.

The shop is correct.
So, you have not been ripped off.

Per the Scientific numbering system;

1 Mega (M) = 1*10^6th power
1 Giga (G) = 1*10^9th power

So, 1000MHz = 1GHz

Depends, if you got an AMD processor its a good deal, if its Intel then you got ripped off, but beyond that yes 1Gig = 1000MHZ.

Yes 1000 mhz which actually 1,000,000 hz is 1 gigahetz (gig) Also, are you setting up the hard drive yourself? You know you have to partion the drive? You can run scan disk to fix most errors
on your drive. Let us know what these errors are by the way.
