Watchgaurd VPN

By whitecat ·
We have a watchgaurd X500 and are trying to establish multiple VPN connections though it. When one user connects they are able to browse and use network resources just fine. When another user connects the second user can see the network but is unable to browse or use network resources. The first user is still able to work normally. It seems that we can only connect one user at a time. Any Ideas??

When the second user connects, can they ping resources by both IP and Fully Qualified Domain Name?

If you can't ping anything, then it is either a DNS or connectivity issue.

No I cannot ping anything. Network places will see all of the computers on the network after a long pause but I think this may be cached info. Whenever I try to connect to a computer I get the reply that this network resource in unavailiable. Whenever I try and open a mapped drive it says that it is in use.

Have you upgraded the firmware of the firebox?

How many tunnel licenses are you paying for?

Have you checked the log files on the firebox?

Have you called Watchguard? Most vendors like this have really good support.

everything is using the latest software and firmware and I have contacted the vendor but they have been of little help. That is why I am posting here. I agree that is sounds like a DNS issue but why will one connection work fine and another not. I would understand if only one workstation ran into this but if we disconnect workstation 1 that is working properly and connect workstation 2 that wasnt working, workstation 2 now works and workstation 1 will now no longer connect properly.

How many IP addresses do you have in your VPN pool? Are you sure that these IPs are not assigned within your LAN?
