I have set up apache web server on a win Xp machine. I have 2 NICs in machine ( one a public IP and the other connected to internal network. GMy goal was to enable public access on the external IP while preventing external access to internal network. After being up for several days I discovered that I could no longer access the website using the public IP as the site was blacklisted. I beleive the issue was due to no PTR record. No mail server on this box. How would I go about assigning a PTR? Do I need t register a domain name?
Again this box is just for testing purposes.
