We're looking for a new corporate antivirus solution...

By srush ·
We are a company of about 250 users. Strictly Windows based environment. We're currently using Trend Micro for our A/V solution and have been somewhat disappointed. It doesn't catch and remove all viruses. It offers no safe mode capability. It's anti-spyware is incredibly weak.

What has worked for all of you out there? It must have a good anti-spyware as well as anti-virus and function under safe mode as well for the client side. Server side, it has to be easily manageable and dependable.

Symantec AntiVirus Enterprise Edition

We use it in our office and strongly recommend it to all of our clients. It is extremely manageable on the server side. Very powerful (in terms of detection and removal). And best of all, it have an extremely low footprint during start-up and actively running resource usage.

Disagree on Symantec

by netwrk_admn In reply to Symantec AntiVirus Enterp ...

It does take a lot of footprint for starters(running 10.1.4). I have a scan run on Thursday at noon also, and some PCs crawl throughout the afternoon. We had the management console running on our server before my employment. Was working well, and within a month of my employment, the management console broke due to an upgrade and there was no back up of the Sym AV directory. My lesson was learned right there, to have a back up before an upgrade, and also Symantec, when broken, really affects the chain down the line (some client workstations are still not updating due to parent permissions).

Although this may be an isolated case, we are up for renewal in a few months and looking somewhere else so I am also interested in this thread.

Just my opinion

I liked Sophos. Panda I also like, but lately they seem to like everyone else want to sell you a combined package. I wish companies would just admit there are some things that others do better and leave it at that.
