My freinds Computer keeps “losing track “of its modem and it is driving us nuts sometimes. She has a Lucent-Win Modem and the thing keeps saying modem not propperly installed and or not working, then after holding the enter key for about 30-40 seconds it makes a long beeeeping noise. and when it does finally work, it “stalls out on the internet. I have used my AOpen modem and it works fine, no stalling, so I eliminated the Possible net work issue. she is using windows 98 SE and has it updated. What in tarnations is going on?
