You don’t mention what operating system you’re using, but I’ll go out on a limb and guess that it’s Linux. I’ll go further out on that limb and guess that the error message says bad code base, not bad base code. So before I get too far out on the limb and fall flat on my face, I’ll suggest the following:
With the Linux operating system, drivers dominate the total amount of source code, accounting for over 50% of all code. The architectural-dependent code is another substantial contributor, accounting for almost 20%. Both the file system and networking stacks account for about 7% each.
Therefore, I would guess that Linux was loaded with your old motherboard – which is driver intensive – and your new motherboard with its myriad of new devices simply shut down the system. The only solution would be to reinstall your operating system, letting Linux reload all necessary new drivers.
If you do, by chance, have a Windows operating system, I’ve also seen reference to a similar error as it relates to Visual Basics applications. Do you have a VB program integrated with the boot up process?
However, regardless of the operatingsystem or any other applications, because of the numerous device driver issues involved, I’ve found that replacing a motherboard – especially if it’s a “drastic” upgrade – almost always requires one to reload the operating system to ensure the stability of the system.
