I want a graphics card good enough for gaming, but also isn’t incredibly costly.

Depends on the game, the monitor, the refresh frequency you want, and – of course – the max amount you want to pay for it.

Check the specifications for the games you are interested in using/playing to see what type of graphics cards that the developer/game author recommends and start from there.

Let’s see a few good games:
      1. Commander Keen
      2. Doom https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Doom_(1993_video_game)
      3. Leisure Suit Larry
      4. Zork

So many games that you don’t need to replace a PC’s video card to play.

      An affordable yet good GPU

An affordable yet good GPU for gaming would be the AMD Radeon RX 6600 or the NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1660 Super. Both offer solid 1080p gaming performance at reasonable prices, with the RX 6600 being slightly more efficient in terms of power consumption. These cards strike a good balance between price and performance, delivering smooth gaming experiences without breaking the bank.

First you have to check your M’Board

And find a Video Card Comparable with it then if it works with your M’Board generally speaking it’s good enough to play whatever it is you want.

It is pointless buying a $1,500 Video Card that doesn’t work with your M’Board and even one that works today may not work correctly in a months time after the next round of Windows Patches. I had to replace a video card recently because after a patch round the second monitor stopped getting any signal and remained black. Prior to that patch round it was working perfectly for a couple of years.
