where do i extarct the bios

i downloaded the upadate utitlity for my ecsk7s5a motherboard. i just wonder where i will extract this. i would also like to know how i can change my multiplier to 14.the default is 10.5

Typically, when you double click on the update, it will extract to a floppy diskette. It is bootable and you boot from it to do the update. I am not familiar with your motherboard, but mine came with a utility to accomplish this task. Hope this helps.

From the ECS K7S5A 3.x manual, the CPU settings are on the CPU PnP page of BIOS setup.

The CPU Ratio setting is the Multiplier.

If the BIOS update file is a zip file, just create a new folder for it.
I would use C:\drivers\ECS\BIOS
(I extract and save ALL drivers onto my hard drive.)
Extract the files, and then copy the BIOS file and the flash program onto a DOS bootable floppy disk.
