Why can’t network users see files on the share?

Hello,

I was recently called in to work with a client after their server went down. The RAID failed and we had to recover all of the data from the drives. The raid was replaced with a single drive temporarily. We are doing this to simply get the server back up and running again so users can get email and access the share. Exchange is working again and the data is back on the d: but users can not access the folders. When I try to change the permissions for the drive I get an message “this has been shared for administrative purposes. the permissions cannot be set”. I can access the data from the server but no one can access from their pc’s. Any advice would be appreciated. Oh ya, the server is running 2003.

Thank you
