What is a pastel5.2v ?

"Floating Point: Square Root of Negative Number"

This sounds like a software code error. If it is, you would have to report the bug to whomever wrote the software which is causing the error.

Please give us the full text of the error message: What is causing the error, and the error code.

Might try running Pastel in Win95/98 compatibility mode

Since Pastel is quite old, it probably is not compatible with Windows 7. You can try compatibility mode, but it might not work in this either. The other option would be to use VirtualPC and install an image of older version of Windows (95,98,NT4) and run Pastel in this virtual machine.
Outside that, contact the software vendor for an update to their new offering

I think it's called "Sage"
