A friend of my that sit on our township board ask me to find out the ROI for communities like ours to implement WiMax as a city service.
Our township is midsized for the area. We have a stable, but growing, light industry/distribution base. Our community is made up of professionals that commute to other near by towns and into a major metro-city.
The board has looked at the idea of WiMax for:
1. Internal township uses
2. Sellable services to the industrial base
3. Sellable services to the people of the area
We have a cable provider that provides high speed cable modem connection (which I personally think is over priced, but is stable)
Will some people wade in and tell me what they have experienced in implementing WiMax, what has been the real ROI, and what are the pitfalls.
