I have a mixed workgroup, XP and Win7. Previous to adding the Win7 machine one XP desktop, which is always on, was designated as the Master Browser with the IsDomainMaster parameter. A short while, about a week, after adding the Win7 machines all computers on the network lost the list of other computers in the workgroup. I can see them by entering \\computername. But they do not come up under Network\Microsoft Windows Network\WorkGroup on the XP machines or Network on the Win7 machines where they all had previously. In reading up on this problem I found that a newer OS will usually win a master browser election. So I changed the computer with the IsDomainMaster=True from the XP machine, which previously worked fine, to one of the Win7 machines that is on all the time. Still no success. Any advice appreciated.
