I have a pc on a small network the won’t boot I get the following error:
“Windows 2000 could not
start because the following file is missing or corrupt:
\WINNT\SYSTEM32\CONFIG\SYSTEM
It goes thru:
multi(0)disk(0)rdisk(0)partition(1)\WINNT\SYSTEM32\ntoskrnl.exe
multi(0)disk(0)rdisk(0)partition(1)\WINNT\SYSTEM32\hal.dll
multi(0)disk(0)rdisk(0)partition(1)\WINNT\SYSTEM32\BOOTVID.DLL
multi(0)disk(0)rdisk(0)partition(1)\WINNT\SYSTEM32\config\system
multi(0)disk(0)rdisk(0)partition(1)\WINNT\SYSTEM32\config\system.alt
and then goes back to the error message.
Then it asks for the disk or push “r” to repair – neither of which does anything. That’s all that shows on screen.
