Win 95 install -protection error

By Spedtchr30 ·
I've gotten some free computers for our school. They have been "cleaned" to protect donors. Most seem to be AMD K6 processors. When I install Win 95 on reboot get win protection error... Help!
(ps. fairly new at this but have been successful with many Pentium installs)

General protection error will come up using AMD processors over 300mhz loading Win95,there is a patcdh available that is in www.microsoft.com/knowledgebase
The other solution will suggest that yopu underclock the jumper on the MOB,then reset it when you get the machine the OS installed

Boot with the win85 bootdisk, and run fdisk at the A: prompt. Ensure that the drives have not been partitioned using fat32. Win95 on a virgin installation does not support fat32.

Ensure that you do not check the Large hard drive support when theoption comes up if you have to fdisk the drive.

Make sure that you are not loading any memory managers or TSR's in config.sys and autoexec.bat.
