win server 2003 compatible with apps?

By sschilbe ·
Hi, I am thinking of installing Win Server 2003, and setting up an MS domain server for my home network. I have some previous experience with working on win2k server on client's machines, however this was a couple years ago, and I'm a bit rusty now. I am wondering about the best approach. Dual boot system (which would not allow connectivity for the client machine at all times) or are most apps that are win2k compatible, compatible with win 2K3 server as well? Both networked machines are running winxp pro as of now, however I like the added security and restrictions allowable with win2k3 svr. All suggestions are welcome. :)

Most applications that run on Windows 2000 will run on Windows 2003.

The majority of issues revolve around the tightened security model in 2003.
