Win XP shutdown

By s.w.kraft ·
I am running Win XP Pro and when I shut down the computer, Win XP says that it is saving my files but never completes to say "it is alright to shut down the computer" I don't know what is wrong but any help will be appreciated. Thanks in advance, Sid Kraft

Win XP Shut Down

by Axis Tech In reply to Win XP shutdown

Make sure you have SP1 for XP installed and also run Windows Updates to be sure you have the most current patches. If that doesn't help, go into Task Manager and see what processes are running stubborn processes can also keep Windows from shutting down. Good Luck.
