Win2k install failure

By jgthompson1 ·
I am trying to upgrade the OS from nt4 to win2k on a compaq machine without a cd-rom drive. I installed a backpak to serve as the cd drive. Once installation copied some files, the pc reboots, but can't see the backpack. Now i am hung up, because NT will not boot either. How can I commplete installation???

boot it to win nt, with support for the backpack, copy I386 to the HDD, Use the HDD as the source for the install.

Goto www.bootdisk.com

Get the 98SE with cd rom support... Boot up by that disk. Copy the i386 folder from the cd to your hard drive.

Run the file called winnt32 from the local hard drive.
