I use the windows backup utility to back up and append three network drives, five days a week, an hour after our office closes. I also backup and replace the system state once a week on the weekend. On at least two seperate occasions the network drives backup has ceased “backing up” for no apparent reason. I have plenty of disk space. I try to check the server backup everyday but sometimes cannot because of my other duties around the office. What might the problem be and is there any active directory snap-in that could notify me when any backup fails to run? Through email would be ideal.
