I am using ASUS probe on my ASUS motherboards.

My Duron CPUs are running around 105?F
The system temperature varries over time, but stays around 80?F most of the time.

I have dual fan power supplies, a temperature sensing case fan that speedsup as the case warms up. (I place the senser in between my RAM modules)

My video card also has fans on it.

Most CPUs are rated for 55?C (131?F) or higher.
They should survive a 10% overtemp condition.

The motherboard components should alsobe good to around 55?C.

The problem is if any voltage regulators have poor airflow, or are under rated by design.

AMD has a couple of white papers that you can download on cooling design and requirements.

The big concern on a hot system is keeping the drives cool. Excessive heat can mess up the magnetic properties of the media, and the bearings in the drive.
