Windows 2000 Server Installation

by tkappers . Updated 23 years, 4 months ago

I am performing a new installation of WIN 2000 Server on a RAID 1 mirror array. After booting the CD, setup starts to load files at the blue setup screen. It however hangs up at “Setup is Starting Windows 2000” To eliminate the RAID, I tried the same install on the standard Primary IDE controller. I am not using a 3rd party RAID controller rather it is integrated with the mboard. The same problems also occur with Windows 2000 professional. I am using a newer mboard. Dual processors 1200 celerons. I have changed data cables, hard drives to help eliminate the problem. Only one time has it made it past the “starting Windows 2000” but then my enter key did not work on the keyboard. Is this possibly a faulty mboard?
