Windows 2003 RC2 SP2 no exchange in AD

By adelhier ·
I have taken over a full 2k3 AD system. It was a total mess with FSMO
roles missing and a missing AD master server i had a a work. Also i
just upgraded to RC2 on my AD.

Now i not sure they installed exchange right. When i have local AD
tools installed or use the AD tools on my master AD server. I can not
see the exchange tools set. So if i make an account on my desktop
using the AD tools in Admin tool kits i have to go to my exchange
server to make them a mail box in exchange.

Also when in exchange and i go to primary store and i click on a users
name i do not get properties i just get item can not be shown.

Could it be possible that they did not do a ADprep for exchange
2003. I will in time upgrade to exchange 2007 but for now i need to
start finding out why i do not have the full use of my AD tools.

zThis is normal.
What you are missing is the Exchange tools.

Use and Exchange CD to install ONLY the tools and you will be fine.

You can also just remote into the Exchange box and use ADUC from there, it will do both.

Good Luck
