-You can't find on market an upgrade kit from Win3.1 to Win2000.
-You can install a full product on a seperate partition (or HDD)
-Win2000 need more resources (HDD, memory, processor) than Win3.1. Check for minimum requirements.
-Old computers (if this is the case) can have hardware compatibility problems. Also you can have a very slow performance.

Per Microsoft, this is not possible.

Remove any spaces from the above URL.

In all honesty, considering all the limitation of 3.1 I would do a fresh install anyway. You can port your data over, but the old apps will be quite suspect. Some *may* work...but I'd look for current alternatives.

I'm sure this isn't what you want to hear, but I hope it helps. Good Luck!

I found the answer and it is No you can't as they are two completed different operating systems. Windows 3.1 is MS-DOS based. You can only upgrade Windows 2000 from a NT environment. Thanks for your input

Why would you want to? Save whatever data you need and do a fresh install if your pc meets the requirements for 2000
