This might do it. Go to start/find/files and folders and do a search fo all *.pwl files. Delete them and restart your machine and give yourself a new password and username. It would also help if we knew exactly what that dll error message you got said.

try to hit escape instead of logging in. Also when you do get into the machine goto START/ FIND FILES and search for *.pwl (PWL) and delte them all. Next time you boot up put in your user name that you decide (ANYthing) and hit OK with no password. It will not ask you for a user/pass anymore. So Microsoft says.

You may have a bad password file. Try deleting all of the *.pwl files out of the C:\Windows directory and rebooting the machine. You can then reinsert your password or leave the password blank so you won't have to put one in everytime you start the system.

I need more information about your DLL error message. But with the absence of it, you can try deleting the shortcut to program icons in your Startup group and reinstalling the programs one by one. Just in case you need to get to your Startup group, follow this: From Windows Explorer (Start/Programs/Windows Explorer)
1. Click the "+" on left of C: drive, if it's not expanded.
2. Click Windows/StartMenu/Programs/Startup
3. Delete the list of shortcut icons on the right panel.

As for your password, delete all *.pwl from C:\WINDOWS directory. Restart the PC. When it asks for Windows password, delete the username. In other words, leave the username and password fields blank and click OK. Windows won't ask for "Windows password" again.

Boot up to "Command prompt only" - mode.
Then go to Windows folder and type:
del <user>.pwl - where <user>-name of user-profile you want to delete

After that boot up to Windows and reenter your lost password
