Good Morning,
Sounds like a memory conflict. First uninstall all drivers this includes modems, sound, printers and scanners. Use the components uninstall if this option is available. Now shut down and physicallt remove all cards and peripherals from your system. Now boot your sytem and let Windows acknowledge that you have no plug and play devices installed. Install the drivers for one device or card at a time and shut down and install that one device and reboot. do this for each card and peripheral that you have and I believe this will solve the problem.

It could also be the actual ram chips themselves. One of them might be failing. Try the first answer (removing and reinstalling the PNP devices) and if that doesn't work, try replacing the ram.

This sure sounds like a memory problem, but before you start swapping sims you might want to see if it is a conflict.

Does it always happen in the same place? Can you boot into safe mode and reproduce it. If it does not happen in safe mode, you may be able to configure around it.

Good luck.
