Windows AD generic login limitations

By bfiveash ·
I am the Network/System Administrator for a school district - K-12. 37 elementary campuses using Windows XP completely patched. Windows 2003 Server environment, multiple DC?s (16+).Every student has a specific login account but teachers are demanding a generic login for pre-k, K and 1st graders.
We have a specific generic login for each campus that has no network share but allows students the ability to access the internet for "NEEDED" education tools. After the generic account is used for a while on many different machines, it just stops working. Machine gives an error, "System cannot log you on. Make sure the username and password are correct."

We've seen this problem in the past with a generic login for our technicians (administrator equivalent) after half a day or so, the account will no longer work.

Account starts working the following day.

After hours of searching the web and different post, I find no definite answer. All I see is people stating "I don't think there is a login restriction".

Please help!!! Any ideas are welcome.
