I am building a computer and have a 60 GIG Maxtor HD Model D740X-6L, a 1.8 GHZ Athalon XP on an ECS K7S5A Motherboard with a SiS 735 Chipset, with 256 MB DDR RAM. When I try to install Win XP the CD-ROM seems to speed up then shut off over and over, and when I take out the CD it is very hot. Also when I try to install Win XP and it starts to format the HD I get a blue error screen saying, ” Windows has been shut down to prevent damage to your computer. DRIVER_IRQL_NOT_LESS_OR_EQUAL. Check for bios updates, and last STOP: 0x000000D1 (0x8E8DO875, 0x00000002, 0x00000000, 0xF98F9FAF) USB port System Address F98F9FAF bus at F98F3000, DATE STAMP 3B72868B. I am wondering if it could be a compadability issue, or if i need to changet the BIOSsettings. Also I cannot find out if it is an AIM or AWARD BIOS.
