Windows Failure (Win98) To Continue Load

    Locked

    by popjam ·

Windows began to load and then stop ,check Bootlog.txt and noticed when it got to the ttf. fonts I got Loadfail =c:\windows\fonts; Failure code is 0016. Check to see if gdi.exe Loaded okay and if Font directory was still in windows (okay)

      1. You might get better replies if you post this in the technical Q&A.

      2. Reinstall Windows over itself. This should repair missing and/or replace damaged files without losing your data and programs.

I cant remember the exacts, cause this problem came up about 4 years ago, but we had a pc that was having a problem because there was over 512 fonts in the fonts directory. Have you installed a new printer or some graphics type program just recently. You might try booting into safe mode and go into control panel/ fonts and uninstall a few fonts.

Just an idea, dont know if it will work for you, it did for us at the time.
