Having trouble turning off windows firewall on client machines through group policy from my 2003sbs. I need pointed in the right direction with the group policy editor. Note: The firewall on the client machines gets turned on and locked so that it cannont be disabled from the clients machines when I apply the group policy. (The firewall is causing extreme slow down problems with our accounting system.)

the group policy you have in place causes windows firewall to use certain settings. It sounds like to me can't set group policy not to enforce those settings anymore, but would like to stop the windows firewall from enabling on your pcs. Simple. Create a new group policy that disables the windows firewall services.
Thanks anyways, already had it figured out. I wasn't editing the right group policy. I needed to disable the SBS firewall policy but was trying to edit under client computer policy.
