Windows Server 2003 Proile Path Configuration Problem

By todes79 ·
Can any one asisst me with this?
Every time i create and specify the profile path and the document path for users in the active directory, i usually get this message:

The home folder was not created because the path was not found. This could be caused by listing non intermediate folders or by not finding the server or share. The user account has been updated with the new home folder value but you must manually create the folder.

First thing's first

Do you really want to do that? From what I remember, and understand, that whole tab is for backward compatibility with NT.
You might want to look into using AD and Group Policy together. I'll see if I can get some more specifics for you.

You might want to look at "folder redirection" and "roaming profiles." I have this configured on a few client's systems.

Here is the first few links I found that had good info:

You could also use group policy to automate a script on client machines to map a network drive (and/or link to a network share). I can give you a script that does that if you'd like.

How did you make out? Did you get your answer? Did you make a solution?
