If it is possible, we would like to create a Windows Update Server that would have the service packs/critical patches/updated drivers etc. of our choosing
( rather than running AutoUpdate on each computer ) for the Windows XP machines in our company. The patches/drivers would be deployed through a group policy upon login. Can the patches/drivers/service packs be downloaded from Microsoft as files or just as part of the Windows Update mechanism that does everything automatically for you?
Are there any suggestions about how this might be setup if it can be done?
