Ok here is the deal, I have a dual core celleron pc w/2gb of ram running xp pro sp3, it is an acting server for file sharing. The primary share is for an act! 6.0 database. It will work fine for 24-72hrs, some time in there it will stop sharing any folders. all shares are down. can not access the server via \\ip address or \\server name, i can ping the machine and it will respond, i can access the inet and other shares from the “server” but i can not access the servers shares from the server, \\ip or name, locally i can co in via c:\ or d:\. there are no log entries at all near the time that this happens… i am totally frustrated and do not know what to do next. i have tried a new nic and rebuilt the winsock and still can not get the share to stay online for more than 14-72hrs. the only fix is to reboot. i hope some one has some suggestions…pls hlp 🙂
