Windows XP Pro, scandisk zip drive

By peterbakker ·
Windows XP scandisked a zip disk and threw everthing on the drive 1300 files into one folder called Found.000 and renamed every file 0001.chk, 0002.chk, 0003chk etc.
The files can be opened as per normal but the user has no idea what is in each file until the file is opened.

None of the original folder or file names exist anymore.

Is there any way to restore the files and folders back to normal?

The other folder left on the drive is called Bootex which canot be opened.

Thankyou
Regards Peter

The only way I have seen is if the UNDO was checked before the drive was scanned. That would possibly put back the original file names.
Other than that, copy everything to a directory on the hard drive, throw out that zip disk, and go through each file and rename it (hopefully we are talking a dozen or two).
