I just loaded WinXP and am trying to move a file from My Documents to a folder under my account, but it keeps showing up in My Documents also; How can I get rid of it in My Docuents, but keep it in the new folder? Also when I try to set permissions on the new folder, I go to the properties of the folder but I do not get a permissions tab. I can only password protect my account, what am I doing wrong? Please help!

Thanks,
Dave

1) To clear the My Documents, click Start-> Settings, select Task Bar and Start Menu, click on Advanced tab and then click the button to clear My Documents
2)Sounding confused, but XP sllows you to set password protected user accounts,so therefore the folder is is set under the account that is currently being used at logon
To change user accounts
Click Start, select Control Panel, click User Accounts to display user accounts window
Their are three permissions available for XP accounts and can be set from here

Some more help:
First: The My Documents folder (that shows up on the desktop) actually is tied to your account (profile). If you look on your C: drive under Documents and Settings, you will find a folder for each account set up on a particular computer. All information related to a user's profile (including his My Documents folder) is included in that folder.
Second: I your hard drive is not formatted NTFS, you cannot set file and folder permissions.
