i hv winxp server and win98(4)nodes on a network.winxp is wid service pack2.internet sharing is enabled on winxp server ie proxy server.internet is terminated on xp server thru ethernet cable(cat 5e).all 5 machines are on same workgroup with different names.internet is working fine on all machines.but the problem is on file sahring.on win98 machines whenever i try to access winxp files it shows server not accessible for the time click and then it open.file sharing between win 98 machines is working fine.printer(shared) is attached on win98 node which is not accessible to any node and server although it is shared.i hv turnd off the firewall on xp server.still problem remains.although the internet is shared perfectly to all nodes.ping respose from nodes of server is excellent wid no rto.
