    Wireless Connection before Windows Logon

    Locked

    by mmcgowan ·

I am looking to figure out how to have the computers on my Network establish a Wireless Network Connection before Windows actually logs on or boots up completely. Basically we are running a batch file at startup which maps our drives to the Server. Well, the problem is that the batch file is running before the computers are establishing a network connection so they are crapping out and not mapping the drives??

Because I’ve got a feeling that the IP is under the control of Windows, so aquiring a network address would be difficult without an OS.

Some computers are able to connect to the network before windows even loads. Mind you I have only seen this possible with wired connections. I am looking very hard to find out how to make it possible with wireless because I really dont feel like running a cable up to my room but I need to establish a connection before Windows loads… Any tips? Anyone?
