Wireless connection

By mrocco2 ·
I recently purchased a linksys wireless-N home router for my apartment. I went through the set up and started the network. 3 out of the 4 laptops in the apartment are successfully connecting to the network but my laptop does not seem to be connecting wirelessly. I have spent hours on the phone with linksys and still have no results. They told me that the connection is fine and there is something wrong with my computer and its wireless capabilities. However I have no problem getting onto other networks. What can I do to get my laptop hooked up to my network wirelessly?

High-level discussion about comparative ambiguities.

Someone may take a break to help, but, you may be better off asking in Questions instead of Discussions. There, in Questions, will take place the inevitable and appropriate cross-examinations.

Just a few simple questions:
1. Do you get an error message when you try to connect?
2. Is your router set to auto channel?
3. Are all of the computers connecting using the same standard? (are they all wireless-G, and is this different than the one not connecting.)
4. What encryption are you using?
5. What are the OS versions of all of the laptops? (is the one not connecting different?)

I've recently had multiple customers having problems with the linksys routers and windows 7 / vista. Answer these questions and I should be able to help you out.
