By m_happyman ·
I am trying to connect to the internet/fileshare through a wireless router. The laptop im using is a macbook that has XP installed on it. I can connect to the secured network with the network key but i cant connect to the internet. the setup is identical to other wireless laptops. I have tried to use automatic ip configurations as well as manual.

Can you ping any sites like google, have you checked your DNS.

When you run a ipconfig /all what IP address do you get i would run this on a machine that works and on the machine that don't and check the all the settings are right like dns and default gateway and the like.

Sounds like DNS or default gateway

May be incorrectly set, check these both on your machine and on your router.
Also make sure there is no MAC address filtering or anything like that going on on your router.
