Hi. I am begging for help with my friend’s ASUS A3H laptop. His wireless card is strangely not deteting any networks at all. Problem is intermittent, once in an hour it detects someone else’s distant network but not mine.There are at least five networks around and I have previously connected to my AP. I would prefer not to reinstall win…
What i’ve tried so far. After each step i have tried to detect networks.My AP is 2 meters away from laptop.
Booted from linux live cd, wifi detects and connects just fine. Therefore I assume wifi card works.
In windows xp home SP3 (fully patched)
1.Unninstalled asus 802.11g card in device manager.reboot. Reinstalled,
2 updated driver to version 4.100.15.5.
3.installed asus control center
4.netsh winsock reset catalog
5.netsh int ip reset reset.log
6.sfc.exe /scannow
7.run various antivirus scans, all clean
8.Tried safe mode, no luck
I am running out of ideas. Could anyone advise please?
