Wireless Networks for a Conference

by aredubbya . Updated 19 years, 2 months ago

I work at a school with a LAN and small wireless network in place.

I have just found out that my school is going to host a conference for about 300 people in 3-4 months. I will need wireless access during this time, but I obviously do not want to give access to out current access points.

Is there a ‘best practice’ for setting up a temporary/guest wireless network for about 4-5 days to all the anonymous users who will need access to wireless AP’s and internet access, (this will be dismantled at the end of the conference).

I did search on TR but wasn’t able to find anything, anything (doesn’t mean it isn’t there though). This kind of thing happens at big Tech conferences all the time I am sure.

Any comments suggestions that would put me in the right place are appreciated.
