WMI Filter For Laptops

By Aakash Shah ·
Anyone know of a WMI filter to filter out either laptops or workstations? I realize that I can split the different computers into different OUs, but I'd like to be able to do this through WMI filtering.

Thanks.

you might be able to use Win32_SystemEnclosure.

Thanks for responding Lowlands. I checked the Win32_SystemEnclosure class, but I didn't find any relevant information. The only fields that were filled out when I tested in on my desktop computer are:
Caption: System Enclosure
ChassisTypes: 7
CreationClassName: Win32_SystemEnclosure
Description: System Enclosure

LockPresent: False
Manufacturer: Dell Inc.
Name: System Enclosure
SerialNumber: XXXXXXX
Tag: System Enclosure 0

Any other class that you know of that might help?
Thanks.

I was in a rush so I hit submit to soon.
You can use that class, I just forgot to mention what is what :)

check http://www.microsoft.com/technet/scriptcenter/resources/qanda/sept04/hey0921.mspx

that should help a little more than my previous post.

lowlands: Thanks! This is what I was looking for. Unfortunately, Microsoft didn't make it easy to determine between 2 simple concepts: workstation and laptop :)
But, thanks - I do appreciate that.
