i have learned from a friend that he had problems running word(97 or 2000 or office xp or 2000?)plus windows me. i know of the ressources-problem and have solutions stabalizing this. i once heard of additional steps (or one) to be taken within word. i cannot test this because i have neighter office nor word alone on my own pcs.

What is your Question?

Windows ME doesn't have many fans, but it will run most versions of Microsoft Word. I know several people who run it without any problems. Most things I run into are general issues with Windows ME itself. Most people either upgrade to 2000 or XP if the system is strong enough or they downgrade to Windows 98SE.

Well, yes, there can be problems with Word: too many actually to help you without an exact error message. I don't know of any steps to be taken 'within' word, sopry. except a universal cure all of finding and deleting (do this with word closed). that can fix strange document behavior. but usually not crashes. Have your friend try Start/Run/Msconfig <enter> to see what is running. Maybe you can selectively remove and test to see what application may be conflicting. Good Luck
