Working with ISP provided static IP address

My ISP provided a static IP address, I am using the DSL modem ip as the Gateway and the modem DNS information. I am not able to gain access. What am I doing wrong.

At what point do your tracerts and pings fail?

Here are some of the issues that I have run accross. Call ISP to ensure that you have the correct ip information and if you are using ppoe. Another thing to ask them if your line is working and is your modems MAC address is registered on there network. Some times modems/routers are not pulling the MAC address properly from the device. Can be fixed in the router. Do you have all your filters on the all of the jacks? Does your modem have a DSL light on and not blinking? Please advise
