Tablets

Question

Would one tablet work as 2 things?

By Techstang ·
So I have an old tablet with android 5 which I flashed into it. Im planning on using it as a small touch screen monitor and a webcam. Will both of the mods work at the same time? I already know the apps which I will be using: DroidCam and Spacedesk
Edit: Almost forgot, the tablet does not have Wifi, it just gives an authentication error, so everything will go wired.

Best way to find out.

Try it.

But it's not saving us much here. A run of the mill webcam here ran me about 15 USD so the headaches of Droidcam aren't worth it. However I've always enjoyed a second screen.

Welp, lets see, the issue is webcams here are expensive here since local pc accessories/parts are going up in price currently

Here and there.

I can't guess where everyone is but here, webcam prices have returned to normal.

Back to your question. You have the tablet so you only need to test it all out.

In my experience.....

Tablets don't multitask as well as a computer. I am using a Samsung tab S7+ running the latest version of Android. When I want to use a different application while using another one, the first application is essentially put on hold and the second one takes control.

My follow up thought is

That if the tablet can hold a Zoom call then it has enough horsepower to pull off the faux web cam and display job. Yes, the frames per second may drop but the OP is trying to make do and even ONE frame per second would suffice as far as I can tell from what the OP has written.

-> Back to the OP. You have the gear. Now you need to test if it works and how well or badly it works.
