xerox printers on virtual servers

By Br3nno360 ·

we have currently converted all our server on to a citrix XenSan and 2 out of the 10 xerox printers we have..both fx docucentre-II c7500 are extremely slow to print even a 5kb document (1.5hrs to be exact). Now i have another xerox unit exact specs as the other 2 that dont print and it prints fine. i have logged support call with xerox and they say its the xenserver causing the issues. If thats the cause why dont i have the issue with the other 20 printer i have on the virtual machine?

any ideas would be really helpfull

drivers are new, direct from xerox, they are setup with a static ip on the server, then shared out from there. 1 that does print has same driver same setup as the 2 that dont print, thats what has be stumped

1: are the print processors different between them?
2: using the same printers and drivers, set up a new 'printer queue' from scratch in the same way your working one was done, see if recreating the non-working queues will solve the issue

if i install the printer on a physical server, they print fine, soon as you install them on a virtual server (citrix Xencentre) we have this issue, I have tried these printers on about 10 different virtual servers and still no luck, i print to one installed on a vm and it took about 45 minutes to print a 15 page colour photo a4 document

I'm not familiar with the configuration of citrix servers, but do you run win server 2003? How is the citrix server set up for sharing etc?

the virtual machine itself has server 03 32bit installed on in, the whole citrix side of things is the format the vm is in. so the sharing is pretty straight forward.
